AIR AND DREAMS

With the emergence of new art fairs in São Paulo, Galeria Lume considers it essential to reflect on different ways of exploring, exhibiting and creating within the fair space, so that there is also a place for daydreaming.

In this context, for the first art fair of the year, ArtSampa, the gallery invited Amalia Giacomini, Claudio Alvarez and Eduardo Coimbra to think of the stand as an exhibition. Thus, images are born between air and chimeras, forms that give rise to other, distinct ones, created in the void between lines, or in the illusion of mirrors.

The idea is to dissolve perception, remembrance and memory, and give way to the delirium in which each work is mentally reconstructed and emphasizes the dynamic nature of the imagination. Upon entering the stand, we dream and, as Bachelard would say,

“For a moment we are ‘in the clouds’ and, when we return to earth, we are sweetly mocked by positive men.

No dreamer attributes to the cloud the serious meaning of the other ‘signs’ of the sky.

In short, the daydream of clouds takes on a particular psychological imprint: it is a daydream without responsibility.”

For the first ArtSampa, Galeria Lume brings a special project with the artists:
Amalia Giacomini, Eduardo Coimbra and Claudio Alvarez.

Since the fair takes place in the space of OCA, an iconic architectural work by Oscar Niemeyer,
the installation proposed by the 3 artists explores the relationship between space and the work of art with the public.
