Clara Moreira is a visual artist, born and lives in Recife. His artistic research involves the use of handmade drawings, testing them as a performance experiment, poetic dialogue and body craftsmanship.
“I have been walking with the drawing, slowly, over this body that I am and that I carry and at other times I drag it (definitely drag it), and it escapes through my fingers, coming from the exhausted scapula, I draw myself in animals, I draw the thread of mirror, I unravel the satin ribbons from inside, I tie myself in my hair”.
Her artistic training was during her childhood, living with a family of popular artists in the suburbs of the city of Recife, with whom she learned drawing, painting and poetry skills. Her work is in the collections of the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, Museu Paranaense, Museu da Língua Portuguesa, Banco do Nordeste Collection, Caixa Cultural. In 2022 she received the 8th Tomie Ohtake Arts Award. Nominated for the Pipa Award in 2022 and 2024.
